Look Before You WalkIt was that time of the month again, but it’s not what you think. This day was all about books. Every month in elementary school, my whole class went down to the library to check out new free-reading books. Entering the library, I shut out the rest of the world. I was enthralled by all the stories sitting there waiting for me. I went from bookshelf to bookshelf, running my fingers along the bindings, wiping the dust off. They hadn’t been read in a while. They needed a friend, and I could be that friend. Some of my friends were already there, The BFG, Double Fudge, and Harry Potter- the usual childhood entourage. However, I could only make one new friend at a time, so I had to choose carefully. I needed a book that would inspire me and fit my mood. Did I want a funny book or an adventurous book? An easy book, a hard book? Whichever I chose, it would need to be able to take me away to a land that would show me new and enchanting things. Like Hippogriffs. Oppression broke over them.
To fight for freedom the warriors went,

Blazes prospered and candle lights perished.
Bloody battle blows
Felled many mighty foes.
So many restless souls, but love persevered.
Her actions betrayed her thoughts.
Lingering on her fears,
She tried to hide her worried tears.
There had been no news.
Their engagement was no secret affair.
A jealous rival reared his head
And told the princess her love was dead.
Her soul could not hold so much pain.
The young warrior returned in a blaze of glory.
This feeling did not last long
Because he found out his love was gone.
She had left to join him, but he remained.
She slept atop a mountain neighboring the sun.
He kissed her where she lay,
Vowing to see her another day.
He left but didn’t go far.

Life of PiIn Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Elizabeth Bennet says, "The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it." As Elizabeth's knowledge of the world grew, she re-examined how she thought about it, and her opinions changed. Peoples' views and beliefs of the world and themselves also change with time in a similar manner, based on their experiences or situation in life. These beliefs range from philosophical views, such as which God to worship, to simpler, commonplace things, like whether cheese tastes good or bad. In the book Life of Pi by Yann Martel, Piscine Molitor Patel, also known as Pi, is a young boy of sixteen years old who studiously follows three religions. Everyone that hears about this seemingly contradictory belief tells Pi he must choose one and be done with this preposterous situation, but he always refuses. His reason for why he would not choose one or another was always, "I just want to love God" (Martel 69). When Pi's family, who owned a zoo in PondichLife of Pi by RatTerrierLuv
